snack ideas!
I am doing the kinetix program which requires 3 healthy snacks a day that are 40/40/20 balanced with a k2 count. I have one of the really good recipes. There are just too many good ones to chose from so you need to go look at all of them on: www.kinetixcommunity.com/ You will see a section on the left side of the screen that says recipes. If you click on that you can find snacks, desserts, mains meals etc each K count is like that many calories. K2 around 200, k3 around 300 etc. Great tried and true ideas and yummy! Fruit plate: 2 c. 1% cottage cheese, 1/2 c. low fat sour cream 1 t. vanilla, 1 t. cinnamon, served with 1 portion of one of these: 1/2 banana, or 1 peach, or 1/2 c. bluberries, or 1 c. strawberries, or 3/4 c. grapes or 1 orange or 3/4 c. raspberries. Blend all but the fruit in a blender add stevia or splenda to taste. separate into 8 servings (about 1/2 cup each. ENJOY!
Water, Water, & More Water
Hey everyone, thank you for letting us join your game. I am jealous of you veterans who are used to drowning yourself. The water does have some benefits. I haven't felt very hungry because my stomach is always full of water! The rest of the game has not been too bad. I just need to pace myself and get things done earlier in the day. I hope everyone's second day was good. I am going to go back to drinking my water now...only a liter to go and yes it is almost 10:00 here. Maybe I will just sleep in the bathroom!
Great Day
It's sure been a great day. Women's Conference this morning that was very good (I even skipped the muffins and juice) and then to the temple this afternoon. My only problem was the chinese buffet where we stopped to eat after not eating all day. I think I'm still within my food plan but feeling miserable just the same. It's going to be a waterlogged night since I still have 6 cups to go. . . I've decided that it sure would be nice to have a full-time cook!
this shouldn't be hard..
i have been doing this for a while now, including time in between games, but all the sudden today, i am having to think really hard to get everything right. remembering to exercise, drinking enough water and remembering my new habits. it's good though...real good. i am with you, stacy, i am ready to kick some bootae - while shrinking ours.
Back to the grind
Day 2 and I actually feel good getting back into the "game". I lost 3 pounds in one day! That is a good way to start the game, I only hope it is not downhill from here. Sara and Mommy- we are going to kick some ashby-delaney-rasmussen bootae! Good luck everyone! I would love to see some posts from the newbies (gotta love that "drowning" feeling when you first start the 3 liters-it will get better in a couple of days-hang in there!).

Day One
Yum!!

Oh! So very delicious!
I just had the best dinner and I am including a picture and recipe of course.
Lettuce Wraps
grilled chicken
zucchini
carrots
mushrooms
sweet bell pepper
Teriyaki sauce (low-sodium would be best)
Butter lettuce (or your choice of lettuce)
Grilled chicken on my George Foreman. Let it marinate in the fridge for 2-3 hours in a cup or so of teriyaki sauce. While that was grilling, I diced up all my veggies, very small! Place veggies in a bowl and sprinkled them with garlic powder and salt and pepper and a bit more teriyaki sauce, to coat. Stirred it up, put lid on it and put it in the fridge for a couple of hours also. When we were ready to eat, I heated up about 1/2 Tbs of canola oil in saute pan and then poured in the veggies. Let them cook while I diced up the chicken. The chicken was already grilled, so it just needed to go in for a few minutes to warm and get friendly with the veggies. Wash the butter lettuce and prepare the peanut sauce.
Peanut Sauce
1/4 cup lime juice
3 Tbs peanut butter
3 Tbs honey
3 Tbs soy sauce
1 Tbs chili paste with garlic (I substituted garlic powder, just a sprinkle)
4 garlic cloves (didn't use this, just the above garlic powder)
Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and stir well with wire whisk. Can be used as dipping sauce, or poured over the contents of your wrap. I just used a few little well-placed dots and I totally loved it!
Luke was having none of the healthy stuff!

So Far, So Good
I hope everyone has had a good first day. Thanks for the recipes and for the reminder of my 100 liters of water from your co-worker, Tyler. . . I swear I have no brain cells left after raising children. Talk tomorrow . . .
WHAT ARE WE DOING FOR A PRIZE?
My vote is that we do cash again or a gift card to costco or wal-mart. What do you all think? We need to know and vote someone the treasurer.
I could be the treasurer if you all agree..

I don't know if I am ready
On your mark, get set, WAIT!!
Hold up. Do I really want to do this again? OK, I guess I do. I just don't feel quite as prepared as I did on our first game.
Bring on the waterboarding and goodbye, my fantastic carbs.
For Pete's Sake!
Oh crap, 100 liters of water a day is going to kill me on day one. However, if I eat a cup of salt for breakfast, I may need it! I meant to say 100 ounces of water daily, Tyler!
Diana's Goals
Mom are you really planning on drinking 100 liters of water everyday....LOL? Oh BTW, when I first saw your profile picture I thought it was Aunt Ellen.
oops
i made a mistake and put that scores have to be in by saturday at noon, i should have put friday at noon. i have corrected the mistake above, but if you read it previously, disregard the errant information....
Just a heads up to all you newbies!
I just wanted to offer some veteran advice to all of you newbies out there....just a few helpful hints.
First....how to handle the "water boarding"....I have found that if you spoon feed yourself at least a cup of table salt with breakfast each day you will find that getting the 12 cups of water into your oral orifice will be much easier.
Second....keep spinach leaves handy. Spinach leaves are surprisingly tasty when are starving yourself to death to win a silly dieting competition. They are kind of like marshmallows - you would be amazed how many you can fit in your mouth at one time (my personal best is 62 leaves).
Third....use Maalox (you can substitute 2 cups of jalapenos if you dont have Maalox)to shed those last few lingering pounds before weigh in. This is a dirty trick that my celestial sister (Sara) taught me. Thanks Sara, it came in very handy on that last week when we sealed our victory over the spineless "Dos Mas Porfavor" team.
Fourth.....avoid any advice you receive from other team members (except me, but especially Stacy). For instance, I am sure you will here things like..."you are not eating enough calories", or "you need to add some peanut butter to that for protein", or "try your In N Out Burger animal style Ty, its great". Which by the way, I now know what that means - and yes Todd, I agree, it was very tasty! Just to emphasize - not even "Mothers" can be trusted.
Anyways, now you guys know all the "secret combinations" that may give you a chance against seasoned dieting veterans like the Thighmaster team. Good luck!

Administration privileges needed
Kimmie (or Ty)-
could you please grant us administration privileges so I can invite jodi and lori and braedon to be authors and also so we can post our goals on the side bar??
Ty, I know you know how to do it!! Git 'er done!
excited!
thanks kimmie for getting us started on a new blog! this week, i have been pretending that i am still doing the game, but it isn't the same without you guys and the communication, oh the heavenly communication. i can't wait to get started again.
i will be adding the points information on this blog. anything else you want me to add? for all you new competitors, we are so happy to have you! please check out our other blog: gutbegonechronicles.blogspot.com for all the particulars. check the very beginning of the blog for scans from the game-on book that gives you all the details. read them, they really help. also, the scans include score sheets (they are called scoreboards) print these out so that can keep track of your score each day. for a while, it is a little hard to remember everything that you need to do.
another thing, it would be fun to hear everyone's goals (i.e. transformation goals). that is something that she says (in the book) that we need to do. we kind of missed that last game.
anything else??? game on!
