I love long weekends!

Why can't Murray school district have school end before Memorial Day Weekend? It seems silly to send the kids back to school for two and a half days.

Checking in - hope everyone's in their groove. The most challenging thing to really keep track of again is 100 oz. of water. I usually drank between 8-10 glasses when I was trying to drink good water before this contest, but 100 oz. really pushes me. Love the results, though. You usually just don't have glowing skin at my age, but with all this water, if you squint.... I do!

F.Y.I.- WII Fit scales are WAY off.

It was great meeting most of you today. It was nice to put faces with the names I see on the blog. This game is just what I need to help my body become healthy!

So sorry to not meet everyone today. We ended up taking a Memorial Day road trip to Cache Valley (my mother-in-law is buried there). Good day - just different than the one I thought I was going to have.

5 points. Free Day. Which seems to dumb on Day 2, but weekends work best - when do you guys have Free Day? Please notice that I capitalized it like a regular holiday: Thanksgiving, Halloween, Valentine's Day, Easter. WHAT DO ALL THESE HOLIDAYS HAVE IN COMMON?

I'll have to second what Jodi said. My brain is so backwards when it comes to weight loss. I don't know why I need a game to get myself going. Here's a glimse into my sick head. When I found out we were starting for sure this Friday, My first thought was " I better go make some cookies and go out and eat something really good! " What is that?

I'm new to this social media stuff, so please accept my rookie-ness. I'm no rookie to gaining and losing weight though (mostly gaining), so I'm really stoked to participate in the contest. I like the balance of good and evil in the rules. I'm counting on my good habit blossoming and the bad dying. Progress is what it's all about. Good luck to everyone.

Week 1 - Checking In

Good luck to everyone! Well, luck really has nothing to do with this. Only honesty and integrity - with yourself. I weigh 1.8 lbs. more than my ending weight three weeks ago. Not bad for a vacation in there. And I'm happy to say I have a partner this time around. Here's to a fantastic 8 weeks of deepening healthy habits. I'm off to drink more water, and, well...you know.

Fresh Start

I'm so glad we are starting again. I will admit I've fallen off the wagon where eating is concerned. Cookies and Diet coke are my drugs of choice! So I'm grateful for a little accountability. I really feel motivated! Hope I can hold on to the feeling!

Meeting for Saturday

We will be meeting on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at Lori's house. 647 E. Silvershadow Dr. Murray Cant wait to see you all there. I am changing my goals to doing a food journal daily and sticking with taking my vitamins and minerals daily for my healthy goal. I can not figure out how to add my new goals so i will bug lori tomorrow to help me out.

Great recipe

O.K. here is a great recipe to start your weekend with:
Strawberry Chocolate Crepe
1/2 c. egg substitute
3/4 c. fresh strawberries sliced
1 wedge laughing cow cheese
3/4 T. chocolate syrup
2 T. whip cream
splenda or truvia
1/8 t. vanilla

Mix 1 pkt sweetner, vanilla and egg substitute. Pour into frying pan with non stick spray. Flip crepe over. When done cooking put on plate and slice wedge of cheese in small pieces and put on hot crepe to soften. Spread evenly. place 1/2 c. strawberries on crepe sprinkle with sweetner. fold crepe over, garnish with whip cream and choc sauce. put the rest of the strawberries on top. Enjoy!

185 Calories 4 grams of fat.

Well I still have not received everyones weight loss for the game but with the ones reporting we lost a total of: 108.5!!!!!! Brad Egan had the most weight loss of 14 lbs. Way to go teams!

OOOPPPSSS!! Thanks Again!

I hit the wrong button and accidentally before I got to blog. Anyway...This has been a really great way to jump start me into getting some unwanted weight off. I have really noticed a difference on how much better I feel having more sleep, drinking TONS more water and a lot less soda. I am very proud of my partner Trudy and didn't realize how much weight she had actually lost until she posted it. i am proud of myself for working out through my 2 week pneumonia/102 fever fest. I do regret not being able to meet some of you, hopefully we can rectify that in contests to come. Here's to the 7.2 pounds I lost and to the next. Best of everything to everyone!

Final Score

Alas - 710 pts. again. The scale does not reward me in an orderly fashion. But I have lost 13.2 pounds on this contest, I bought a pair of pants one size smaller last week, and life is good.
As one of the oldest people in this contest, to be the official biggest loser - makes me the winner, even if I don't take home the money. So thanks for not kicking me off the island - it's been a good ride. Here are some things I've learned:

1. You can exercise even when you're sick (I was sick 3 weeks of this contest, and did not miss one day)

2. Free days rock. And one a week is sufficient. You look forward to it more, and I really think the goodies taste better because you waited, and planned for it.

3. Vegetables need to be the star of the show. This one's still hard, but it WORKS.

4. 4.0 mph feels really slow after doing intervals at 4.5 mph (for those of you skinnier, younger, and in better shape, don't laugh - this is really booking for me).

5. I sleep better when I go to bed slightly hungry (my new goal was to be done eating by 7:30 - GREAT rule).

6. The ONLY part of my body that likes sugar is my tongue. It's kind of like sex - 90% of it is in your head. :)

7. Who knew I needed that much water? SO many benefits, some too delicate to broach here. :)

8. I really like to sweat. I need to do it every day.

9. So easy to say no to treats with, "It's not my free day." I took an amazing sweet roll home and wrapped it up in my freezer for the next free day. Except my husband very kindly ate it first! (he'll pay)

10. It's good to practice integrity with yourself - in the end, the only place it really counts. When I started this contest, I made a personal commitment that I would earn a perfect score every single week, NO EXCUSES. I knew I couldn't control those bonus points, but I knew I could control the rest. And I did it, not for anybody but me. Not a bad drill to practice.

THANKS GUYS. I'm excited to keep practicing the habits I've developed over the last 8 weeks. Another 13 pounds is imminent!

I am glad to say the 8 weeks are up! It was a great way to get off some post pregnancy pounds. And a difficult game at times but totally worth it.
Our scores:
Anthony: 700 with an 8 week total loss of 6 lbs. I have never seen anyone go up and down so much in weight from week to week. Today was an up day, if we take from his lowest weigh in he has a loss of 10 lbs. Must be all that muscle he's gaining :)
Tiffany: 700 with a total weigh loss of 11.8 lbs for the past 8 weeks. Wahoo! I've never been this successful at loosing weight and sticking to it. Thanks for letting up be a part of the game!

Whew!!!

I can't believe i made my weigh in today! (PMS and all) Cooking myself in the steam room today must have helped. Did not do so good with my eating though (PMS) but kept myself from hurting too many people (PMS) Oh.... did i mention that i am having bad PMS??? I will finish this post on a positive note even if it kills me. I am so proud of all of you that have played this game nearly perfect on the eating. I think it will take me several more games to get that part down. Thanks to Janna for being an inspirational partner. Sorry I could not keep the high numbers that you did. But, you certainly kept me sticking to the game the best i could.

My points for the week - 680. I actually lost my weight but my horrible points are from lack of exercise and not eating the right things. I obviously do not do well with stress. After this wedding next week I hope to get back on the bandwagon and kick it into gear! Thanks all for doing this and if you are up to it we will possibly start again in a week or so. Final


I would have a perfect game up until now--710 for week 8, only lost .5 pound :( Total loss for the game, 11.1 pounds. Starting weight 136.9, ending weight 125.8.

Final Stretch

Jodi and I have both enjoyed this competition very much. It has helped me become a little bit more disciplined with what I do and eat. Jodi has always been a good example to me with diet and exercise and hopefully it has started to rub off on me a little bit. Good luck to everyone in tomorrow's weigh-in!

Well it's been fun getting to know everyone! I have been up and down on my weight so many times that I got motion sickness................. I have tried my hardest and hope that I can keep it up. ( Gym moms---- If you see me eating m&m's at the gym you have the right to hit me! ) HA HA HA
As of Thursday morning weigh in I have only lost a total of 4.4 pounds :(
I dont think I will make my 1% so I'm reporting now........ 710 for the week
I have worked hard for those so I should be happy. I hope to lose 54 more pounds.... Wish me luck!

We have both enjoyed doing this,
and I am saying for myself, that being
dedicated to this has helped me know that
the balance of doing all the healthy things we
should do, makes you feel so much better! I haven't
given it my 100%, but I have given it enough to know
that next time I can do better. Having all these goals and
changes to work on, has been good. The rules of this game are
"all for the good in ourselves." With each new change in life, for
me it works better to do "baby steps." If I make change gradually,
its easier to keep those changes in my life!!

Congrats

Congrats to those that finished the half marathon! I would love to hear about it from both of you! On a much smaller scale. Ran the 5k. It felt like death. Looks like its time to kick up the workouts! Heres to one good last final week!!!

Oh what a day

We had a party for my 1 year olds Birthday today so I decided to take my free day! I am sick. Chocolate, pizza, cake and ice cream and the best treat of all Diet Coke! I feel sluggish and disgusting. Note to self, Junk food=Junk mood.
Had a free day and feel blah! Need to get back to the program!
