michele and gretchen are leaving us!
In case you have not noticed, Michele and Gretchen have been taken off. Gretchen fell and hurt her shoulder and had to have surgery and so she feels she can no longer be involved in this and therefore Michele no longer has a partner and has decided to also bow out. Thanks for being in it with us. Good luck with the shoulder gretchen and hopefully when we start up again you guys will be there with us!
Being sick SUCKS!
I've been sick all week which has made my workouts only 20 minutes long, which did not help me on weigh in day today. I'm supposed to be running the half marathon tomorrow and don't know if i can even do it with being sick still. I'm sooooo Mad!!!
Brad scored 705
I scored 690

Running
My legs are so burned out from running, biking, BodyPump, pilates, and yoga. Thank goodness the half-marathon is Saturday.
Exciting!
My hip scarf finally came in the mail yesterday ..so I get to use it now in my belly dancing excercise class! I'm excited!
exercise inside today!
No lunchtime walks today. Luckily only will last a few days, I hope!
Back on track this week, but don't know if I'll make my 1% :(
This has been great so far though, I feel so much better.
remind me why I wanted to do this????
Wedding is two weeks from today. why did I want to do this knowing this next two weeks would be so stressful?? I do not do well under stress. sorry kiristin my score will royally suck this week and probably next week. I am so busy that last thing I can think about is this game. Still trying to hang in there though.....

Great Snack
I just found these single-serving, 100 calorie packets of guacamole at Target. They make a perfect snack with some baked tortilla chips.
OUCH, but a good ouch!!
Hi everyone! I have to say that I am very sore and achey today, some of it is the weather, and some of it is from our wonderful hike. Our family went to St. George this weekend, and went on a gorgeous hike. It was a strenuous one, about 3 miles, but I have to say that because of this contest and working out daily, it was definitely easier than the past hikes I've gone on!! I noticed that my muscles were stronger, and I was so happy to know that my perseverance has paid off. I feel awesome and am so happy for that!

Grocery Shopping
I finally went grocery shopping. Now maybe (hopefully) I can get back on track. But look at this recipe you know I'm gonna try next day off!
So Glad
Is it bad that I am so glad we are almost done? I could really use a margarita like crazy. Forget food, get me a drink!!!!
I Love the Eagles
Inspiration comes in the strangest places. For example, Don Henley and Glen Frey crooned this to me this morning:
So oftentimes it happens that we live our lives in chains
And we never even know we have the key.

And we never even know we have the key.

weight loss!
Hey Jodi and I thought it would be fun for everyone to post how much weight they have lost for the last week. So when you post your scores also put how much you have lost. Remember for the last weigh in you need to weigh in front of your partners! Can't wait to see our weight loss total for the game. It should be pretty impressive!
Good food
Made homemade salsa and a chicken pasta salad for dinner, not necessarily to be eaten together. My house smells wonderful, and I KNOW WHAT IS FOR DINNER. This is only a golden question when you actually know the answer, and it is particularly golden when it is before 12:00 noon.

My sad but kinda funny story
So I loved the fat burner pills ....... Started them on Monday morning....... lost .9 by Weds morning....... started feeling sick on Weds afternoon.......... kept taking the pills thinking it's a side effect that will pass within a few days.......until I passed out on Sat afternoon........... Well I should have checked the label better......... I'm allergic to Hoodia
And guess what is in those pills???? Yep you guessed it Hoodia!!
So that is my sad but kinda funny story :)
And guess what is in those pills???? Yep you guessed it Hoodia!!
So that is my sad but kinda funny story :)
OUCH!!!!!!!!
I did a 10 mile run today to get ready for my half marathon next Sat. Why Why Why???? I ask myself. I knew i was not a runner before i signed up. I am in so much pain!!! I can't stand, sit or lay down and have rashes on the under side of my arm that sting like crazy. Any suggestions from any of runners out there would be helpful. What type of top to wear to prevent rashes and what to eat before a long run?
Temptations
Yesterday was my day off of my bad habit. I had a diet Pepsi with vanilla at Peach City and it was soooo goooood. (sorry) Didn't think I missed soda since I've only had 2 since January. I guess I don't miss it just a great treat once in a while.
Yesterday went with other soccer families to a burger joint and had my diet Pepsi and today my husband is making those yummy french toasts with the big thick white bread. Had my oatmeal. I need someone to pat me on the back - I guess it just me.
As far as keeping this going . . . I think we should finish the next two weeks and start another one real soon. I have friends that want to do this and it puts a finale on our hard work and then gets us ready for a new one. If there's too many people then we could split it into two.
Laureen I haven't told you thanks for the tip on the Costco peppers. Thanks. They are so yummy and easy transport foods.

AAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am the same with the down, up, down, up.......................... I need to learn to NOT focus on what the scale says because it is making me want to give up the healthy food and give in to the BIG CHOCOLATE CAKE! I need to learn to focus on how I feel better eating healthy, how my clothes are fitting better and how I have more energy at the end of the day :)
Very Satisfied
The best part of the competition is showing Jodi that I could do well in this competition. I look extremely hot!! My muscles are bulging and my butt is like eye candy.
Bonus Points Stink on Ice
So I was going over my log sheets from the past six weeks, and if we do this for another 8 weeks - I agree - the bonus points are bogus. Here's why: the first week, I lost 5.2 pounds - waaaay more than my 1% for my bonus. Barely got my bonus the next week, and, since our bodies strive to let go of about 2 pounds of fat per week if we're eating healthy, I didn't lose anything the next two weeks. In fact, I went up .5 lb. one week, and .7 the next. BUT, the 5th week, I lost 3.7 pounds - again way more than the 1% needed for the bonus. This week - 1.7 - not enough for the bonus. BUT, over two weeks - I lost 5.4 pounds - more than 2%. Our bodies tend to adjust for us if we're doing it healthily, and the bonus being awarded weekly can't reflect that.
I'm just saying.
I'm just saying.

5K
My sister just talked me into signing up for a 5k. Its in a week. This should be entertaining......
standings
Well with the reported scores so far, of course the first place team is Jodi and Janna! I don't know if it is possible to catch them at this point, Laureen has a chance I suppose! 2nd place is Laureen and 3rd place is Jodi and Trudy! way to go girls! Hope our last two weeks we can all end strong!
Week 6
In spite of YET ANOTHER perfect week, only lost 1.7 - not enough for my bonus. Drat.
BUT, I have lost a total of 11.6 pounds total. This week: 710 points.
BUT, I have lost a total of 11.6 pounds total. This week: 710 points.
better week
We both had a way better week than last week and both made our 1%. yeah!!
Anthony: 740
Tiffany: 735
Team: 1475
Good Week
didn't make 1% but felt really good about my week. Excercised really hard increased my distance and intensity on my runs. I'm sure next week will be better. I feel good about my week even without the scale!
Diet Plan Worked Again
Great week. Increased my workouts now Jodi's back (yea) and stayed on diet all week. Ate my split pea soup last night. That seems to help in the morning weigh-in. Hope next week goes as well. Our scores:
Jodi - 710
Trudy - 760

Belly Dance Burn!
I really think belly dance burn class paid off tonight! We learned some cool new moves and my arms are so sore and were burning the whole time! Did lots of fun stuff and got a great work out at the same time!
Checking In
Good day. Lori, I tried your Greek gyro thing, except my pitas ended up being flatbread, so I had it open face. YUM. Thanks. :)

New workout
I did my new Biggest Loser: "Last Chance Workout" today... it's better than the boot camp one. I got a great workout... I think I'll feel it tomorrow
Amen on loving the game
So I just did 2/3 of my workout faster than I've ever done before. I'm a little puddle of sweat, the endorphins are doing the Snoopy dance in my head, and I'm wanting to ditto Jodi's vote for another 8 weeks. This has been a massive blessing for me, and here are just a few of the things I've learned in the last 5 1/2 weeks:
1. I really, really do love to sweat. Not so much at the outset. As one of my 11-year-old piano students once said about practicing his piano ever day: "Starting's the hardest." But there's nothing like it. Nothing. It is truly the prozac / zoloft / xantax (insert your mood altering drug of choice here) that it takes you at least 30 minutes to swallow. I love exercise. I love how I feel, THE REST OF THE DAY. I love who I am, in my head, the peace that comes when I push myself - do battle against my lazy ol' sorry self - and win.
2. I still really, really like sugar. But, it tastes SO much better, just once in a while. There's a calm in my head because I'm not constantly on the sugar buzz or crash. It's almost been like a detox. I really look forward to the occasional treats provided in the rules of the game. There's something calming about taking note of something that sounds delicious on a non-free day, not indulging in it, and then planning for it appropriately. Thanksgiving dinner would not be the treat it is if we had it once or twice a week all year. Same deal.
3. I love the way it feels to eat until I'm not hungry any more, rather than eat till I'm full. Not only do I feel better physically, but emotionally - it's so much more peaceful somehow.
There's that word again - peace. There is a peace in being in control - of myself. This planet is so crazed and out of control - is it possible that it's because we've all forgotten to start with controlling - ultimately - the only thing an individual can control - himself? My life has been just as insane as everybody else's the past 5 weeks. I was sick as can be, coughing like the last days of emphysema, and yet I exercised every day, ate healthy, drank and drank and drank (and, consequentially, well, you know), and haven't cheated. And here it comes again - I have felt LESS stressed - peaceful! - than I usually do when life is spinning along nearly out of control. Because I've been in control - of the only thing I can control - myself - in the middle of it, it's like I've created a little eye of the storm for myself, and I can manage the storm a little better.
I absolutely vote for eight more weeks. I want to live this way for the rest of my life. Why only live correct principles for a few weeks at a time? But I agree with Jodi - I want to have these habits more secure - for life. Sign me up!

Love the game!!!
There has never been anything moderate about me or my habits. I am extreme and all over the place. Doing really good or really bad. Happy days, Sad days. This game has been amazing for me and also my husband. Whoever it was that suggested that we continue for another 8 weeks..... I am for sure in. I am learning that moderation in all things is very wise. Also, having some consistency in my life is what i have needed for many years. It will definitely take many more 8 weeks though before i can say i have good solid new habits.

My partner Gretchen has broken her upper arm in a bike accident!!
My partner Gretchen has broken her upper arm in a bike accident last night. She was the proud recipient of a new road bike so she could compete in the breast cancer bike race this fall, and is now out for at least 4 weeks with her arm in a sling :(. Please think of Gretchen today and wish her well. I will be blogging for her until she feels better so she gets points for checking in every day - get better Gretchen!!
Struggling to lose the weight and allergies are trying to take over!!
Hey - I would definitely be interested in the Biggest Loser workout - is it a video or a book? I will look into it today, great suggestion! I am now struggling to even lose a pound, so for this week, I reduced my caloric intake and increased my workouts. However, the weight just isn't budging. I am going to try the Biggest Loser workout and see if it will do the trick!!
Lori - yes allergies are killer!! I found that some of the over counter medicines cause me to retain water, so I stopped taking them - they really didn't work anyway!!
Everyone keep it up - three weeks left! I want to keep doing this, I have much more to loose, can we do another 8 weeks after this? This is the most movitivated I have been in years, if we can continue to do this, I would love to participate :).

Biggest Loser
My roommate has The Biggest Loser, 30 Day Shred workout with Jillian Michaels. It ROCKS!! I have done it a few times now....and it is a killer workout, and it has all different levels to fit the workout level you are on. I give it two thumbs up!
Allergies!!!
O.K. these allergies are killing me! All I want to do is sleep. At least I got my workout in early today because I am crawling into bed. night all!
Free Meal
Invited friends for a brunch, so I knew this morning was going to be my free meal. QUICHE. But I used evaporated milk instead of cream, and half of the eggs were egg beaters. I figured the cheese and the pie crust would make it rich enough. I was right. BUT I filled it with sauteed zucchini, mushrooms, and green onions. I'm not gonna lie - it was pretty good. Then a salad with apples, raisins, and sugared walnuts, and since I HAD to have dessert (didn't I? I mean, what would company think?) - we had Haagen Daaz (sp?) sorbets - lemon and mango - topped with sauteed strawberries.
It was a great free meal.

New Favorite Lunch
So, yesterday I was on the run, and threw together a couple of Wasa cracker "sandwiches."
Took a wedge of Laughing Cow cheese (1 point), and divided it between the two crackers. Put a couple of slices of turkey on each, and a few slices of avocado on top of that. Add a handful of the magic grape tomatoes. Six point lunch - two servings of vegetables - creamy plus crunchy (Avocadoes are God's butter) - YUMMO.
Enjoying free day, though, gotta say. Brought home a goody from a wedding reception last night, and had it for "dessert" for breakfast. Although I must say, eclairs get a little soggy, so it wasn't quite as grand as I'd hoped for. But a Godiva macaroon awaits for after dinner (grilled mahi mahi). Here's to a great week 6!

Checking In
What a day. Sunshine is like a drug I'm addicted to, and I go through withdrawal every year. Aaaaaaah.
Beware of flashers
I was running with my friend on 11th east and 5600 south and a guy decided to show us his junk. I had another friend who saw the same guy a day earlier on 4th east and 5600 south. It was really scary so DON'T RUN ALONE. He is on the prowl we called the cops, but the penis man escaped.

Sorry its just the link. I tried copying the recipe, and it got all messed up.
P.S. what was the word on those black bean brownies?!

The scale finally moved in the right direction! Staying the course really DOES pay off. This week's total: 760.
Good Friday

Trudy 760
Jodi 745

Well, I did better then the last 2 weeks so I guess I should be happy. I hope i can be perfect the next 3 weeks!

Almost the weekend
My legs are so burned from all the running and biking. Thank goodness I get Saturday off.
last day
I am glad it is the last day of week four and ecstatic it is the last day of tax season. I am getting my post in early for I will be working helping the procrastinators get their taxes done in time. I am excited for a new week, this week has been a struggle and I really need a fresh start.
Lovely Spring Day
Can't beat the sunshine and tulips today. I love this time of year, makes me happy from head to toe.
bummer
With the lovely monthly i really don't think i will get the bonus tomorrow :( other than that pretty good week! hope everyone else is doing great!

Every ounce
Every ounce of my body hurts. Running, cycling, yoga, and BodyPump over a two day period might have been a bit much. Maybe I'll take my training down a notch.
2 days
This has been the hardest week in the game thus far and I only 2 more days of work until I'm done for this tax season. I am burned out with taxes... I hope everyone got theirs done for tomorrow is April 15th.
Greek Food
Yummm...Greek lunch....it's good for you. :) Actually, the Mediterranean is supposedly one of the healthiest in the world. Love my hummus.
God Bless Endorphins
Everything looks better after you've sweated. "The earth shall be cursed for thy sake, and by the sweat of thy face shall thou earn thy bread all the days of thy life." For our sakes, indeed.

new workout
I tried a kick box class at Gold's gym tonight. What a riot! It kicked my butt! I am already feeling stiff and sore. I sure hope I can get out of bed in the morning. It was so much fun that I think I will add it twice a week.
Amino Acids
Started taking amino acid supplements today. Here's hoping I don't end up like Arnold S.
Not great, but getting there
Today I had a terrible run-in with my cramps that landed me in the emergency room earlier, so unfortunately I haven't been following the game very well, i've just been trying to take it easy to make sure I can keep on going tomorrow. Good luck to everyone!
my new favorite meal!
i have found a new favorite low fat meal. I put a little bit of balsamic vinegar, olive oil and lemon juice in a pan and cook with 2 chicken tenders, i season with pepper, salt and oregano. I then grill 1/2 pita (2 pts.) and spread 2 T. of a cucumber yogurt sauce (found in the refrigerated section of costco) 1 point - on the pita and put the grilled chicken on it and enjoy! A low fat chicken gyro! my family went crazy over this!
Early post
Getting my post in early so I don't forget. We've had a busy few days... cleaning the house for family that came in town for a funeral and getting ready for our 9 years olds birthday today. Feel like I'm getting extra workouts in with all the cleaning I've been doing... at the end of the day I'm exhausted!
Yoga Power
This morning as I drove to Yoga it was snowing really hard. When we finished, my yoga teacher looked outside and said "It stopped snowing and the sun is out. See what good yoga does for the world?" You can thank bikram yogis for your sunshine today :)

Thirsty
I'm not sure what is going on....but i have been SOOO thirsty all day! Good news, i barely had to try to get all my water in today. Wahoo!
Almost forgot
I just got in bed and realized I hadn't blogged. My computar is in my basement and it took all my will power to make myself come down here! Ha! goodnight!

sigh
Down to the last minute...literally! Better day today...feeling better but still dizzy. Heare is to a feeling better every day week.
Jodi O
Check In
Just in the nick of time. Amen to other posts about the scale not showing the hard work. What's up with that? I know, I know - stay the course. Good luck this week, everyone.
cheat day
well another cheat day is gone and done. Hopefully I didn't do as much damage as last Sunday cause it proved to hard to recover by Friday's weigh-in. Good luck to everyone this week.
I need to learn how to let my stress go. I sleep for an hour then I'm awake for three...... I sleep for an hour then I'm awake for three....... I stare at the ceiling, the floor, my cat climbing all over my feet and nothing will stop the voices in my head telling me everything that needs to be done the next day ( or week) and everything that should have been done today that didn't get done! I know I will never loose the weight I want if I don't relax! HELP! Any suggestions on how to relax your mind at night?
Saturday, April 10, 2010
keep goin
well I'm still feeling good and trying real hard. I seem to be having trouble convincing the scale to follow me. This week will be better.

Thanks for the scores!
Thanks for all the scores you guys. Just a reminder, please put them as a post and not under the teams. Looks like we are all doing pretty good. A few of us have struggled but we are only half way through so we can hang in there. The results so far are:
1st- Jodi and Janna
2nd- Laureen
3rd - Anthony and Tiffany
Great job everybody! Here's to a great next week :)

gretchen and michele's scores for the week
gretchen 700 + michele 700 = 1400
We had a good week, some tough times, but we made it through, lost the weight, and very happy with our results :). One thing I (Michele) worked on hard this week was to make sure that I didn't let other things get in the way of making sure I ate right and worked out. I seriously didn't think I was going to loose the weight this week, there were so many things that kept popping up and needed to be addressed. It is so hard when you have so many things that try to get in the way and side track you. Staying on track is so hard and I know that is the reason for the weight gain and sluggish feelings prior to this competition. Staying on track and taking care of me is my #1 priority and this competition is helping me do that :)!! Thanks and hope everyone else had a great week!

Bad week!
I knew that heavy dark cloud over my head was pushing me down, but why did it have to add to my weight??? I'm just hoping for better days and at least I am still alive. Life sucks and then we die! ( I think this blogging is probably supposed to be on a positive note). Sorry for all those who wasted time reading mine.
Scores
Brad 705

Hoping for a better week next week
Hope Jodi O gets better quick to workout with me. It's hard and not as effective when I do it on my own. She's been missing work and life to get better, but still manages to do The Game as best as she can. Kudo's to Jodi for doing anything at all. :)
My score this week is: Trudy 700 (again).

Ice Cream
This week, for the first time in a few weeks, I have finally felt more in control again. I went to a reception tonight with a yummy ice cream bar. Waffle cones, Sugar cones, ice cream, all the toppings you can imagine. I managed to restrain myself... But I have a feeling all the binging on Easter Sunday is still gonna show in my weight.... BOOOOOOOOO.
My week
I've had a pretty good week! I've excercised hard and eaten good! Then today PMS struck BOO! Jodi I totally get the roller coaster. Food is my safe haven when my emotions get out of wack and it's really hard to find another comfort. I am not a good communicator. So food was an easy friend! So don't give up! I'm right there with ya!
Great Website
A friend put me on to a website: www.livestrong.com
You can click on "My Plate" - and put in your nutrition goals - like how much weight you want to lose every week, and it will figure how many calories you should eat for your age and size. THEN, you can log your food, and it will search - often even name brands - and calculate what you eat. It's how I've been logging my food for the last two days. There's a place for you to log your exercise, water consumption, and there's a pie graph showing your proportion of protein, carbs & fats for the day. It calculates all that for your day, and any numbers that are too high show up in red, so you can tweak the next day.
IT'S AWESOME! So much easier to finish a meal, and just sit down for a minute at the computer and log in what I've eaten.
Check it out. :)

Hope I make it!
I gained 6 lbs over the Easter festivities! I have worked really hard to get if off this week and I only have 1.2 left to get off by tomorrow. Wish me luck! Lots and Lots of H2O!! At least an hour workout today-all cardio! Hope everyone is doing good and good luck for tomorrow!

Don't let me quit!
Nasty black clouds have been hovering over me the past few days. I feel like a failure next to my perfect partner. I keep hoping that tomorrow will be less heavy. I will not give up even though my mind is screaming "Quit!" I know that this too shall pass! Count your blessings if you can live life without roller coaster emotions.
Utah Glory
Had a great night with my 2 sons soccer club. Very classy club! Also, went back to work after being flat on my back for a week, it took all the energy I had out of me and left at 12:30. I am tired and going to get ready for bed. Oh yeah, my oldest turns 17 tomorrow. Oh how I love teenagers!

Great Workout Song
Gloria Estefan's "Get on Your Feet" is an old 80's song, but I love it because the lyrics are very empowering. She wrote this after she was injured in a car accident - I think she broke her back. The words:
You say I know it's a waste of time, there's no use trying.
So scared that life's gonna pass you by, your spirit dying.
Not long ago I could feel your strength and your devotion,
What was so clear is now overcast with mixed emotion.
Deep in your heart is the answer.
Find it, and I know it will pull you through.
Get on your feet, get up and make it happen.
Get on your feet, stand up and take some action.
I think it's true that we've all been through some nasty weather.
Let's understand that we're here to handle things together.
You gotta keep looking on to tomorrow,
There's so much in life that's meant for you.
Get on your feet don't stop before it's over,
Get on your feet the weight is off your shoulder.
Great mantra for us, eh? "DON'T STOP BEFORE IT'S OVER"
GO US!

The gathering regrets
As I read my post last night and read over the others I realized I missed out on meeting a bunch of great people. I wish I could have been there but none of you would have wanted me there. When I am feeling better with more energy I will blog about who I am. Right now this is about it. The world just spins and spins. This is a fun competition, it sucks being sick and trying to do everything...I found out I can't but I am trying my best. Hope to meet all of you one of these days.

Work out fanatic
I'm starting to become addicted to my workouts! ha ha is that such a bad thing? I loooove the way I feel after, even if I am panting for a little while after. :)
Will this weather ever stop?
Okay, how an I supposed to train for the half marathon next month if it keeps snowing? I am incapable of running on a treadmill. It's a little frustrating. I am up to eight miles which just blows my mind considering last August, I couldn't run for one minute without getting completely winded.
Here's hoping the snow melts fast.
new favorite winter chili
Thanks to Kristin, I had my favorite chili for lunch!!
On a wintery snow day:(, it was warm and yummy!!
My week is going good, and hopefully Spring is on
its way, so I can enjoy exercise outside!;)
movin' right along
Plugging away at a new week. Exercise in the morning is a great way to start the day!
Nothing New
Hope everybody's having a good day. Love those endorphins from exercise. Love grape tomatoes for breakfast. Love feeling in control. :)

New Week
Nothing new. Still coughing - unbelievable. Having yummy chicken for dinner with a big salad and steamed broccoli. Should I roast it? Discuss.
I'm Back
After a bad weekend, I excercised hard today and it felt really good! I love that adrenaline rush.

thanks a bunch
Thanks to everyone that came to our house last night. It was fun to get to meet everyone. Thanks for all the good healthy food ideas. Hope everyone has a great week!
Veggie Stuff
If you just do scrambled eggs, or egg beaters in the microwave, just add a couple of those mini sweet peppers (red, yellow, and orange), a green onion, and about 1 Tbsp. of grated parmesan cheese (I get fresh at the deli, I can't go back to the green can now). It's like an omelette - YUM.
Those mini peppers are good for an extra veggie serving with a sandwich, or add a couple to a fruit smoothie - very nice kick.
Another veggie breakfast favorite: a bunch of grape tomatoes, cut up so they won't explode in the microwave. Drizzle with 1 tsp. olive oil, Salad Supreme seasoning, and 1 Tbsp. grated parmesan cheese. Nuke about 45 seconds - to melt the cheese and release the lyocpene (sp?). This is great with eggs, or with a scoop of cottage cheese on the top, and then whole wheat toast.
Roast any veggies you like by tossing them with a little bit of extra-virgin olive oil, salt and pepper, and whatever spices you're in the mood for. Spread on a baking sheet and do in about a 400 oven for 20-30 minutes. OH. Asparagus tastes fantastic roasted like this with....you guessed it - the grated parmesan cheese.
Homemade vinaigrette: 1/4 c. extra-virgin olive oil, 2 Tbsp. balsamic vinegar, 2 Tbsp. pure maple syrup, 1 clove garlic, finely minced, and 1 tsp. Italian seasoning. I NEVER get tired of this dressing. It's a great treat to crumble 1 Tbsp. blue cheese in a salad that has this dressing.
Fun to meet many of you last night and have faces now for your names. Here's to week 4!

Sorry I missed the party
We were dying Easter eggs at Grandmas and I couldn't get out the door. I wish I could have met you all. Good luck this next week.
Thanks!
Thank you for all that came to Jodi's tonight. It was fun to put a face with a name. It was also fun to hear new recipes, ideas, struggles etc. Thanks for sharing your weight loss story with us Janna, you are very inspiring. Good luck to all this week!
Drumroll please!
With all the scores I have, here are the standings after 3 weeks. 1st place, Jodi and Janna 2267.5, 2nd place, Laureen 2230, 3rd place, tiffany and anthony 2204.5. Great job you guys. Great job to everyone even if we are not in the top 3. I am sure you all feel better, feel great about your new habits and are getting healthier by the day!!! Everyone hang in there! I know there a few that are very discouraged but just remember you are doing better then if you were not doing this at all so hang tight it will pay off in the end!
Great find!
You have to try the Alternative Bagel found at walmart in the refrigerated section (by the cream cheese) Full size bagels, onion, wheat and one other kind I can't remember. Put fat free cream cheese on it 1 pt on weight watchers and tons of protein. They are delicious. Even my kids love them.
Week 3
Total: 710 pts.
Didn't make my 1% - in fact, went UP right after free day (d*** Panda Express! And I didn't even eat a fraction of the noodles and rice - since it's enough to feed a small African country). So I spent the week on catch up. I was up 1/2 pound from last week's weigh in, making my total loss for 3 weeks 6.9 lbs. I'm very happy with the three weeks - I've eaten very well, I'm learning to eat until I'm not hungry anymore, rather than eating till I'm full (there's a difference). I'm building my meals around fruits and vegetables, and I'm quite happy with goodies only once a week. TONS of growth - very successful 3 weeks.

weigh in
well I had another good day again today but I'm not sure if I'm going to make my weigh in tomorrow. I'm keepin my fingers crossed.
Penne Pasta with Vegies
I found this recipe on allrecipes.com and have made this dish probably 3 times for my family and I think it is now one of mine and my husbands favorites. I have made a few changes to try to make it healthier. I use chicken broth instead of the butter, I have used chicken twice and shrimp once(today, and it was awesome!) instead of the prosciutto (I use about 1/2 lb) and half of the sun-dried tomatoes it calls for. I also increase all the vegies a little usually more like a cup and a half instead of just one cup. Anyway, I LOVE this recipe especially with the changes I have made to it.

End of Week 3
Well, I've had a great week, but the scale's not feelin' the love. Still a good weekly average - it'll be interesting to see the final results tomorrow.
Sure better to eat more fruits and vegetables, though, and indulge in goodies less often. Steady she goes...
See you's guys tomorrow night.
