I posted this on Facebook when I couldn't sleep (still got my 7 hours) - it strikes me this morning that this IS the test of all tests:
"[Satan's] cause is never more in danger than when a human, no longer desiring, but still intending, to do [God's] will, looks round upon a universe from which every trace of Him seems to have vanished, and asks why he has been forsaken, and still obeys." (C.S. Lewis, Screwtape Letters)
It seems that any bad habit is never more in danger than when a human, no longer desiring, but still intending to change, looks round at no evidence of progress towards the new goal, and wonders why he is even still trying, and still does it.
That was a really crappy paraphrase, but you get the idea. Change for the new habit, even when the result is slow in coming. Sounds like we had some interesting weekends.....
